Your remark suggesting our bodies have evolved with a seasonal evolutionary digestive mechanism, "Maybe store more in the winter for when the body expects lean months and shed it in the spring and summer when storage was less necessary before putting it on again in the fall via seasonal fruit" is interesting...

Made me think that possibly this is the origin for the classic New Years resolution to exercise? A means to mimic the massive shedding weight of our ancestors during the long winter months, with the post harvest bounty being mostly expended by the New year (i.e. The modern day holiday indulgences warranting the new year resolution).

maybe, though we also stuff the shit out of ourselves during the holidays now. But maybe it is a version of expecting lean times.
