QED
There is no positive correlation between vaccine uptake and case rate. None. There are even indications of negative correlation. In other words, the vaccination program has not stopped — or even slowed — the spread of covid. That means there is no moral argument for taking the vaccine on behalf of others. It is simply a risk/reward proposition for oneself.
Every individual has the right to weigh risk/reward for his own health. You can smoke cigarettes and ride motorcycles, or join a gym and eat grass-fed steak. In a free society, it’s up to the individual to manage his risk of getting ill or injured. Each person must weigh the protective benefit of the mRNA shot against severe covid illness vs the potential side effects.
The all-cause mortality rate for those who had the mRNA shots is higher than those who did not. I suspect it might be lower for people above a certain age or given certain health conditions, but higher for younger and healthier people. All-cause mortality spiked in 2021 for younger people vs 2020, i.e., something changed the following year.
We should never be “pro” or “anti” vax. We should assess all medical treatments critically and weigh the cost/benefit accordingly. But we are owed a full accounting of both the benefits and risks and require informed consent.
Those who coerced people into taking the mRNA shot without informed consent have violated the civil rights of those they coerced. They should be prosecuted accordingly. Those in positions of authority who lied about the efficacy and risks should also be held accountable and prosecuted if it turns out they had conflicts of interest or committed fraud. Individuals who shamed and bullied their family, friends, colleagues and neighbors into taking the shot should apologize.
