it's 'toe the line'. otherwise, a near perfect offering. there's no shame in being devoted to reason and doing what you can, within your sphere of influence, to awaken people. just try not to be attached to outcomes, for that is a sure path to disappointment. express yourself and enjoy the fact that you aren't beholden to deadlines, managers, or editors. aside from wanting to produce polished pieces, I know you could output daily insights, if not hourly. what better calling/occupation than to be yourself!? there are far worse 'problems' to have.
Thanks Whitelaw -- appreciate it! And good catch with tow/toe. (Actually thought about that when I was writing it, made the 50/50 call, but forgot to doublecheck.) Kind of like some of my fantasy football lineups.
And yeah being oneself is a tough job as you well know, but of all the problems to have it's probably the one you want.
being someone else is even tougher. I'm about done after 5 decades of pretending to be normal. never worked to my benefit, and took a lot of my juice to maintain.
I kneejerk checked my investments promptly after reading, only to realize a few moments later that the lesson of your essay was lost on me in 2 minutes flat haha
